MAC: Flamingo Lipstick

Hi Beauties!

I'm not huge into MAC but once in awhile I will see a product I must have. Usually its one of their lipsticks and of course that's what it is this time too. After seeing swatches all over of this, I instantly had to hurry up and buy one of my own.

Flamingo is a pink coral color and it is gorgeous! It retails for $15 but is currently sold out. I am unsure if it will be restocked but I really hope so. I know this is the second release for this lipstick so maybe they will get to the point to make it apart of the permanent line or I just hope!

What I love about this is that it is buildable. You can put a light layer on for a more sheer look or build it up for a more intense color. It has the traditional Vanilla scent(which I love about these lipsticks) and great formula. It doesn't last a long long time but just enough for me since I don't mind re applying every few hours to freshen up my lips. I've already used it a few times and know I will wear it often. It's becoming one of my favorite MAC lipsticks already!

Milani: Nude Creme Lipstick

Hi Beauties!
I Bought This

I can't believe its taken me this long to buy and try one of Milani's lipsticks. I've heard all about them and how great they are but just never picked one up because there was so many colors. I just didn't know which to choose. I figured I would go with Nude Creme and see if I could finally find a good nude color for me. I've wanted the perfect nude for my skintone but they just all washed me out or made me look weird! This has a pinky tone to it and I love it on. It isn't the typical nude color I've seen but I think its the perfect nude color for me! Yay, finally! I love that I can wear it with most anything or any look. Great job with this lipstick Milani!

It also, has wonderful formula and moisturizing. I still get dry lips with it after awhile(normal for me) but it is a lot better than other lipsticks I have. And the smell....it smells so good! I love when lips products smell good. I recommend trying one for yourself.

Revlon: Lovers Coral Lipstick

Hi Beauties!
I Bought This

Coral is a color I've always loved from afar but never really played with. Simply because I didn't think it would suit me well. Boy was I wrong. Its not my favorite color on me but I actually do really like it. Especially during Summer. I knew I needed this when I saw it on my good blogging friend Angie's Blog: Vanity Rouge

Lovers Coral is from Revlon's New Super Lustrous Shine Lipstick Collection. It's described as a shiny color with lightweight feel. There are 10 Colors and they retail for about $6 - $7. You can find them at Ulta, Rite Aid, Target, And Walgreens.

I think this would be great for those wanting to try out a coral but still not sure. Its more on the sheer side but I found it buildable. It has nice formula but isn't the longest lasting lipstick out there. I find I have to apply every couple of hours but for me that's fine.

Overall, I am so happy I have this and know I will wear it often. I think its a gorgeous color. Now I would like to try some of the others!

Beyond the Nail Anchor decals & my first time using striping tape!

Hi Beauties!

Striping tape...always wanted to try a mani with it but didn't know if I was cut out for it. I had to just give it a go. I knew I wanted a nautical type of mani using the decals I got from Maddy at Spilled Polish ( She makes some great nail polish as well as nail decals along with her sister. You can find them: HERE)

I think of myself as a beginner when it comes to nail art still. I am great with colors or glitter gradients but when it comes to this or other nail art I just am not as great. I don't have the instant love with striping tape I've found out. I am too impatient! I would rather stick to hand drawing stripes after trying the tape. I did want to show you all my first attempt. Its not the best but I don't think its the worst. Especially for my first time.

I did really love the decals though.  They are so cute and they have a bunch of others in their etsy store. You can get different colors too.
They retail for $2.50 each.
I already have a few picked out to get(ducks, stars, cats)
I love that they can add a lot to your mani with a basic color too if your like me and not an expertise in the nail art area.

Do you use nail decals?

Weight loss: My story.

Hi Beauties!

So, I know my normal posts are makeup, nail polish, reviews, etc...but I knew eventually I wanted to do this personal blog post. Plus, I've had girls ask me what I've done and wanting to see a blog post sharing my story and my weight battles. For me, I gain easy and losing is TOUGH. Before I get into it more, I ask you to be kind and if anything mean is said, it will be deleted. I am here to help and encourage others with this daily battle.

My name is Miranda and I LOVE food. I am a stress eater and I am a bored eater. 2 types you never want to be and of course I got both of them. I am also a mom. I had my first baby at age 18 and bounced back smaller than when I got pregnant. Then pregnant again and having 2 kids before 20 my body just drastically changed. I went from healthy to not so healthy and my problems just got bigger and bigger(as well as my waist, butt, etc!) I stopped caring about me and was focused on my 2 babies and constantly making sure they were happy and healthy.

I got married to my high school sweetheart at age 21 and when you get married and comfortable you end up gaining weight....well not everyone but I know a lot that of people that has happened too. Whether it be 10 lbs or more(me).  I got pregnant one more time and was in my happy yet eat anything cause I was prego place. Not good. Now 8 years later after 3rd baby arrived, I am still blaming "baby weight". Not a good excuse.

Now for the hardest part...seeing how much I had topped off at. Before, I was so ashamed to admit my weight but now I see it as motivation to never EVER go back to that unhappy place. I was 220. I was in shock and I just bawled constantly. How did I let myself get to this place and why did I let myself. I knew why, but it just didn't help. I just got to a point(finally) that I knew I needed to change.

My mom introduced me to Isagenix to get me started. She was my biggest motivator at the time because she knew about my sadness. I started doing just the shakes and some of the snacks and weight started dropping. Nothing drastic but I could see changes. It was wonderful and it really got me going. I don't use them anymore because they were the culprit behind my skin issues but I am at a good point I don't need to rely on them. I knew I needed exercise but honestly I hate it!(another reason for the weight gain) but I knew I needed to find something I love. I started the couch to 5k app and really loved it. I had bumps along the way and skipped days or weeks. I am not perfect so getting used to it all is still a battle at times but now I won't let myself go over a week with no running. I don't want to get out of routine.

I still have really bad days where I feel like I am just as heavy as when I started or that I am failing but most days I find myself just happy and feeling really healthy. I've cut out a lot of crap and stuff I just don't need. I am proud of where I'm at and that I am so focused to get where I want to be. I currently fluctuate from 180-185 and haven't lost a lot of weight lately just because I am gaining the muscle back and that's ok. I've lost about 20 inches total. I am still very self conscious but I've found that it doesn't consume me anymore because I am more and more comfortable with the way I am. I feel more alive than ever and have so much energy to keep up with my family. I found out I love running through all of this(never thought I would say that) and I just feel like a much happier and more positive person now that I am putting myself 1st instead of everyone else. I have moments of pure joy where I just bawl because of my accomplishments. One of them is weighing less than my hubby...oh I cried! Another was getting below 200 lbs...yup, bawled. Feeling pretty again...oh yes, there were tears. Buying smaller sizes, wearing clothes I bought but never wore...tears. As silly as it sounds, but my belly not sticking out farther than my boobs even made me cry! But all tears of joy so I welcomed them. I know there will be many more because this feels like a whole new world. I've been overweight for over 10 years so I had forgotten that confident feeling and that healthy feeling. It is wonderful to be welcoming back. I love that I don't compare myself to others anymore, wishing I looked like them. Instead, I just think how pretty they are in their way but I am pretty in my own way and don't want to be like them anymore. I also love that when someone gets their camera out, I don't run and hide behind someone. I embrace what I got and am proud to show off my hard work!
Sorry this is all over the place but it's my experience in my words as I think it up. Before I right another chapter lets just get to pictures!

Some of what I eat now:
Low to none processed foods
low sugar, low carbs
fruits and veggies
Fish, chicken, or turkey burger
2 hard boiled eggs a day for snacks
and everything in moderation. No big plates for me! I also allow a cheat day where I can enjoy a meal I really want and I've found it helps tremendously.
also, lots of water. I add lemon or cucumber and those make it really refreshing.

My go to snack now is veggies. Cutting them up and putting them in bags helps so you can easily grab some when you have the urge for snacking. I find I go straight to my backs rather than my cupboard for the not so good stuff.

Here are a couple before and now pictures. I still have some to lose but I know I will get there eventually. It took many years to put it on, I don't expect it off overnight.

I hope that even though this is just a small part of my story, it can inspire you if there is something you need to change in your life. I know if I can do it, you can too! If you ever need someone to talk to or just want some motivation don't hesitate to email me! Any questions please ask in comments. I will get back to you! :) Also, if you like this type of post and want me to continue, let me know in comments.

Rimmel: Airy Fairy Lipstick

Hi Beauties!
I Bought This

A new lipstick. No matter how many you have there is always room for one...or 10 more. I feel like I am constantly searching for the perfect lipstick. That one that looks best on me, stays put, yet moisturizing. I haven't found that perfect one but I am having fun trying to find it.

Shockingly, I haven't tried Rimmel lipsticks until now. I found this one and just instantly knew I needed it. I've wore it a handful of times already and just love the low key yet beautiful color. It has great color payoff and I love how it tones down my berry colored lips. For me, it lasts about 2-3 hours before I need to re-apply with chapstick. I am unlucky with having very dry lips. With that said, I never know how long a lipstick will truly last on its own because I have some kind of chapstick that I reapply every couple hours since lipstick is the most drying for me. I will never give it up though because I just love it!

Have you tried this color?

Sephora by OPI polish: Is It Payday Yet?

I Bought This

Hi Beauties!

Recently I bought some Sephora by OPI Nail polishes because they were on sale. I haven't tried them because....well...I honestly have no good reason why I haven't tried them! Now it was the perfect chance since they were on sale. (Actually, I just checked and they still are if you were wanting any.) I'm thinking I might just get some more.
They retail for $9.50 but currently on sale for $4.50: HERE

The first one I want to show you is Is It Payday Yet?
Umm, I wish! Anyways, It went on opaque with 2 coats and is such a great green color, kind of like a key lime color I guess. I really love it. Also, great formula. Lasted perfectly the couple of days I wore it before I changed my mani.

Have you tried this or any other shades from this line?

Julep: Cassie and Alaina Mani

Hi Beauties!
I Bought This

I am trying to be better about not putting polish away before wearing it. You know, you buy polishes don't wear them but put them in your collection and then forget if you've wore them or not recently...I know some of you ladies will totally understand! ha
So as soon as I got my Maven box, I had to put the polish on. Plus both colors looked beautiful.

Cassie is a soft coral sheer and for that reason I didn't like how the dots turned out. They ended up to sheer for my liking but I wanted to try anyways!

Alaina is a driftwood taupe creme and is a color I wouldn't gravitate too but I actually really like it and think it will pair well with many colors.

Formula wise, they are just as good as all the other Juleps. Alaina takes 2 coats to be opaque but Alaina can use 3 to 4 since she is a sheer polish.

Jewelry Haul!

I Bought This

Hi Beauties!

First off, I want to say sorry for my lack of posting. Its been a bit hard adjusting to summer with my kiddos. I love it but things like this seem to lack a little because I am so focused on my kids and keeping them from the constant "mom, I'm bored!" So hopefully I can get a bit better juggling both. I have to because I really miss blogging daily!

Now onto this fun post. I have really been into jewelry lately. Like its a bit out of control! Especially when I see SALE. This is what happened when I went to Fred Meyers. They always have super cute jewelry so when I saw that word(SALE) I had to check it out. Then I saw 50% off. Ooooh, even better. I couldn't resist.

I loved this simple yet cute bracelet set. One thing I don't have a lot of is bracelets, so I am happy to add this to my collection.

If you've followed me for awhile, then you know my love for flower earring. So, of course I couldn't resist these blue beauties.

A simple white/silver necklace I see myself wearing a lot.

I loved all the different pieces in this one bracelet. Really cute on too.

The funny thing about this necklaces is I've been eyeing it for about a month prier to the sale. The blue just really caught my eye and I really love this type of necklace. I was so happy it was there during the sale. I grabbed it like it was the last one left on the planet! ha

I loved the simple flower charms on this. I think it will go with a lot as well.

As you can see, I was all about blue and white. Since I don't have a lot of either it was perfect.

Does the word SALE get you?
